Free Chemicals Check

A non-profit organization, ChemSec is offering a service tool (SINimilarity) that can help corporate managers quickly determine if specific chemicals might be harmful to human health or the environment.

The tool is an important aid for nonchemists to determine the dangerousness of chemicals without having to rely on the information supplied by their vendors. The tool would be particularly interesting to use when examining new substitutes for substances of very high concern (SVHC) that enter the market.

The core of SINimilarity is the SIN list – a database of chemicals that have already been identified as SVHC. The tool compares the structure of a substance with the structures stored in the database to indicate any similarities. The tool and the database are updated regularly. The most recent update occurred on September 30.

If your company is part of the supply chain and has to deal with a new substance, play it safe and have the soundness of the substance checked. If you have any questions or need any help, please contact us at reach@kft.de. If required we can also recommend a reliable partner.
